What's New

New updates and improvements to TKG Analytics

Checks Before Every Upload

Improvement
Uploads are now checked before anything is stored. When your roster can't say which teacher and school a score belongs to, those scores used to be dropped while the upload reported success. Now the upload is turned down with a panel naming what to fix, such as a missing or empty SIS file, no roster data for the period, or a rollover still underway.
  • Nothing is stored when an upload is turned down. Fix what the panel names and upload the same files again.
  • SIS files that arrived late or out of step don't block an upload. You see a warning and tick a box to go ahead, and a confirmation email goes to you, your Superintendent and your Point of Contact.

User Access

New
The new User Access page, in your name menu, lets district admins turn access on or off separately for district users, school users and teacher users. Pause Access locks several at once, and Restore Access unlocks only what the pause changed. District admins are never locked out.

Equity Analytics Is Now TKG Analytics

Update
Equity Analytics is now TKG Analytics. It's the same platform, the same data and the same team, under a new name.
  • New address: tkganalytics.org. tkgdata.org works too. Old links and bookmarks redirect automatically.
  • Sign-in is unchanged: keep using your district Google or Microsoft account.
  • Help: open a helpdesk ticket whenever you need us, and find the documentation at https://docs.tkganalytics.org.
If your district's network filters websites, ask your IT team to allow the new addresses.

SIS File Health

New
The SIS Files view now lists every file your district is expected to send and shows whether each one is current, stale, out of step, empty or missing. If something needs attention, your Point of Contact gets an email on Thursday morning.

Mastery Connect Class Reports

Improvement
Mastery Connect bulk downloads that have class report spreadsheets but no export file now import. Upload the zip as it is.

Growth on the Teacher Tracker

Improvement
A teacher's tracker now has a Prior MAAP / Growth dropdown. Growth compares each student with the previous benchmark of the same year, so teachers can see who grew, held or slipped since the last benchmark.

MDE Impacts Upload

New
District admins can now upload MDE's district and school impact files themselves through the File Uploader. Choose MDE Impacts, and the files import as soon as you submit. A later upload, such as final results after preliminary ones, replaces the earlier one.

Inactive Schools and Teachers Help Pages

Improvement
New help pages explain how schools and teachers become inactive when they drop out of your SIS files, what happens to their history, and how to find them with the Inactive Schools and Inactive Teachers filters.

MAAP-A Growth Level Cut Scores

Improvement
The Cut Scores menu now includes MAAP-A Growth Level, a one-page reference of the state's MAAP-A growth cuts, next to the other MAAP cut scores.

Assessment Definitions for Every District

New
Every district now has an Assessment Definitions tile on the district page. It lists each year's benchmark, district and state assessments, and each one opens a tracker of the scores and impacts that belong to it.
  • District admins can rename assessments and drag them into order, and that order is used everywhere assessments are listed.
  • District, school and teacher trackers, with CSV and PDF exports.

SIS Files Checked During Onboarding

Improvement
During onboarding, SIS files are now checked as you upload them. A file with the wrong name, a missing column, no header row or no data is refused on the spot, with a message naming the problem, so it can be fixed before you submit.

School Year Rollover

New
Moving to a new school year is now a guided process in the app. When we start your district's rollover, your Point of Contact and Superintendent work through it step by step.
  • Confirm your contacts, email domains, calendar, configuration and schools.
  • Review your district admins, district users, school users and teacher users.
  • Choose when your nightly sync resumes, then submit.
Our team reviews the submission and either approves it, which makes the new year live, or sends it back with notes.

Making Sense of Your Projected Data

New
We've published Making Sense of Your Projected Data, a guide for district admins. It explains what a projection is, and what moves it: missing SLAIF scores, readiness standards, and full academic year students who tested elsewhere.

Editing Acceleration Metrics

Improvement
A student's Acceleration Metrics can now be corrected in the app.
  • Click Edit on a student's acceleration metric page to change AP, dual credit or industry performance counts.
  • An edited value is kept through later imports and marked Manually Edited, on the page and in the PDFs.
  • Version History shows who changed what, and when.
District admins and district users can edit for the whole district, and school users for their own schools. Editing closes when the school year ends.

Readiness and Acceleration Metrics for Every District

Improvement
Readiness Metrics and Acceleration Metrics are now available to every district, on the district dashboard. A district that hasn't set up its course codes yet sees a Get Started prompt that links to a helpdesk ticket.

Superintendent and Point of Contact

New
The district dashboard now shows your district's Superintendent and Point of Contact, each with an Update button. Either of them can update both at any time of year. Both must be active district admins.

MAAP-A DRC Uploads

Improvement
The DRC upload now has a separate drop zone for MAAP-A files. MAAP-A files also keep your self-contained student roster up to date, including students who are self-contained for the first time.

Grant Additional Access from the Edit Page

Improvement
District admins can now give a user Uploader or Maintenance access themselves, from the user's edit page under Additional Access. Nightly imports never remove it.

DRC Roster Report Spreadsheets

Improvement
The DRC upload now accepts roster report spreadsheets (.xlsx and .xls) as well as CSV files, so you can upload the file the way DRC sends it.

District Midterms

New
Midterms, an add-on, let a district score its own percent-correct midterm assessments against its own ranges. Upload midterm results through the District Assessment uploader using your own column mapping, and once processed they feed the same impacts and projections as a benchmark.

To add midterms to your district, open a helpdesk ticket.
